The set has been on solid since 11AM this morning (it’s 1AM now) and the top of the set is still cool to the touch and there is absolutely no buzzing sound at all. I’ve turned the volume way down and tried to listen for any buzzing (with help from my two teenagers) and there is none. The speakers are not bad at all; actually pretty good. I have a surround sound system for watching movies on DVD, but for watching regular TV content, the built-in speakers are plenty good enough.

I researched plasma vs LCD and I’m glad I went with a plasma this time around. With the built-in anti-burn-in technology on the new plasmas, I have not seen any evidence of any image retention at all, and the TNT HD logo has been in the right lower corner of the screen during most of the movie, although there are commercials in between of course. Image quality from any angle is excellent and the TV looks beautiful.

So far, I can’t say enough good things about this TV. Don’t hesitate to purchase it; it’s an excellent value for the money.
